Resize images for Google Play store listings
screenshots · feature graphic · app icon · no upload
Prepare the main Google Play image formats from one private browser workflow. Resize a screenshot folder in batches, create the exact 1024×500 feature graphic and export a 512×512 store icon without sending unreleased assets to an image server.

Requirements verified 15 July 2026 against Google's official preview asset guidance. Review it before publication because store requirements can change.
Required dimensions and recommended dimensions are different
Google Play accepts screenshot files as JPEG or 24-bit PNG without alpha. The shortest side must be at least 320 pixels, the longest side no more than 3840 pixels, and the long side cannot exceed twice the short side. For recommendation surfaces, Google asks for at least four high-resolution screenshots: 1080×1920 portrait or 1920×1080 landscape. Pixsoma includes those high-resolution ratios as direct presets.

Screenshots and feature graphics
Choose Crop to fill for exact dimensions. It center-crops to the target ratio, so keep important interface text and focal elements away from the edges. Choose JPG when transparency is not needed.
Store icon
Select the 512×512 preset and PNG output. Google permits a 32-bit PNG with alpha for the store icon and limits the file to 1024 KB. Pixsoma changes dimensions and format; always check the final file size before upload.
Batch workflow
- Drop up to 30 screenshots at once for free, or up to 100 with Pro or the 7-Day Pass.
- Choose Preset and select phone, tablet, feature graphic or app icon.
- Use Crop to fill for an exact store ratio and preview the centered crop.
- Process locally, then download files individually or collect the batch in one Pro ZIP.
Common Google Play asset mistakes
- Uploading screenshots with alpha transparency instead of opaque JPEG or 24-bit PNG.
- Stretching a screenshot to force 9:16 or 16:9, which distorts interface elements.
- Placing important feature-graphic text near the outer edges where Play surfaces may crop it.
- Using a 512×512 icon file larger than Google's 1024 KB limit.
- Repeating nearly identical screenshots instead of showing the app's main capabilities.
Google Play image FAQ
Are 1080×1920 screenshots mandatory?
No. Google's basic accepted range is broader, but 1080×1920 portrait and 1920×1080 landscape meet the high-resolution ratios Google recommends for broader recommendation eligibility.
Can I use the same export settings for the icon and feature graphic?
No. The feature graphic must be 1024×500 and opaque, while the 512×512 store icon may use a 32-bit PNG with alpha. Select the format separately for each asset type.
Does Crop to fill preserve the whole screenshot?
Only when the source already has the target aspect ratio. Otherwise Pixsoma removes content equally from opposite edges to produce the exact centered target size.
Are my pre-release screenshots uploaded?
No. Pixsoma performs decoding, resizing and encoding in your browser. Nothing is sent to Pixsoma for processing.
